Watu Peni (Pulau Pulau Watu & Kroko) near Pulau Lembata
A great wall dive where the bottom forming on 40m +.
The wall looks like a very steep slope at an angle of + - 80 °.
Beautiful soft corals and sponges including beautiful sea fans adorn the wall. In the shallow section above the wall stretches a vast coral field with soaring above schools and rifbaarsjes lipvisjes. The view during my visit was certainly 40.
A very nice dive site where we saw not a big fish. Only one sailfish jumped several times above the water in the immediate vicinity of the boat while we were getting ready to dive.
The Edge (Pulau Lembata)
This dive site is known as' the place to be to see large marine life.
This site takes its name from the sandy plateau ahead ten meters protrudes from the wall at about 40m depth. This is' the edge and looking over the edge, there is a large dark depths of the ocean. Here at the border crossing point and whitetip reef sharks black, big napoleon wrasses and impressively large groupers. It is here that some schools also seen hammerheads. The wall itself is covered with beautiful sponges and sea fans.
Hala Kampong Lewa
In the village there is a coral rubble area, which turns into a sandy area.
Gray volcanic sand, is among a slope of about 45 ° and flattened into a flat sandy plain at about 2m depth. There was also some seaweed to be found. We regarded this site as a muck diving chance and therefore sought to small marine life. Two groups went diving every other way. Between the coral rubble, some harlequin ghost pipefish found near hydroides. A few stone fish hid among the sand-covered dead coral pieces. There were also some mandarin fish seen. Between the seagrass we also found a ghost flute fish, a zeenaaldpaardje and the single feather stars shrimp and a kind of flat worm that I've never seen before. In the sand we found a different Chelidonura varians bobbitworm and snails. Even a small ray was looking for a spot under the sand.
Cave Point (Pulau Buaya)
At the briefing wast our attention to the large amount of beautiful overhangs shown here are such beautiful soft corals and sponges to make a true color show.
At the start of the dive was the best diving conditions but soon began to flow out quickly changed into a vortex machine. With a large underwater housing in the hand is not ideal. Upwelling and down rapidly, and current exchange between the bubbles that left us breathing serviced did not know which direction to choose.
At times they formed vortices of bubbles that abruptly to the surface were spewed. However, sometimes we lost a bubble in a stream down what was anything but pleasant. At one point I even had to stick to the wall with one hand slowly up a path looking to find shelter in the beautiful overhangs. An adventurous dive that I, if these conditions at baseline were already there, so have not started!
Clownfish Alley (Pulau Pura)
The area around Alor is known for strong currents and here we found more or less shelter in a passage that forms a bay between two villages. From the shore walk liana-like branches thick wire to a countless number of traps. The bottom is overgrown with anemones and clown fish dart around thousands in search of food. The fast flowing water is not far away, and the upwelling water is noticeably colder. This nutrient-rich water flows in this region and also results in not only the presence of many clown fish but also thousands of other small rifvisjes. There were also some angelfish on which the Quran and zesgebande keizervis keizervis. Also special is the attention it receives as a diver for many children in small canoes with outriggers the bubbles of the divers search. Underwater is happening on the surface an unmissable spectacle.

Clownfish Alley
The boardroom (Pulau Pura)
Again we looked back to the shelter of a bay where a small isolated village is located and a small jetty was built. Here there is more damage to the reef, but notwithstanding there was almost more fish than water. Thousands rifvisjes including rifbaarsjes anthias and surgeonfish patrolling schools and beyond. Some school ball-shape cat-fishes rolled through the reef. Not only schools but also fish and frogfish spookmurene are shown. It also pretty juvenile fish including zesband keizervis.
Also here are several traps as a deadly trap for unsuspecting fish. To my regret I saw the juvenile zesband keizervis few minutes earlier I had filmed a trap unsuspecting inzwemmen. Hopefully he brought out alive from and he could regain his freedom.
Tanjung Eralara (Pulau Pura - Alor region)
Leads to a showing three crosses will find this wonderful dive site. We summarize the dive in the protected bay and the water was filled with hundreds of thousands of neon fusiliers and silversides. A true spectacle. The water is cold + _ 22 ° because of cold upwellings.
Large schools doctor fish glide slowly over the coral garden and is completely unaffected. There were two diving groups and the other group had the pleasure of a thresher shark also be seen swimming past.
At times the flow suddenly increased again, and his sudden downcurrents not uncommon. It is there to watch but certainly a very beautiful dive site.

Tanjung Era Lara
The Great Wall of Pantar (Pantar - Alor region)
Along the coastline was a road built. The road is not dug into the landscape but placed on top. We see a huge wall along the coastline which forms the foundation for the upper roadway.
We summarize the dive to a small beach with a slight downward rifhelling. This becomes a true wall dive with large schools diklipvissen, surgeonfish and anthias show. Nice dogtooth tuna patrolling up and down. There is also a large Napoleon wrasse swam along. At the end of the wall, not so very long, the area changed back into a rifhelling. Again we must be alert to sudden strong currents and whirlpools in the corners.
Babylon (Ternate - Alor - Pantar)
Planning a perfect late afternoon brought us to the dive site and perfect with a bright and beautiful overhangs, this was a place that enable it to achieve beautiful visual compositions. Bunches hanging soft coral, black coral, sponges and numerous goblet colorful feather stars, forming a perfect backdrop between what rifvisjes frolicking. Very nice and easy. According to the information entrusted to me, this site almost always beduikbaar and little exposed to serious flow. For wide angle photography and videography a super place.
North Reong (Moluccas region) 30M +
On the north side of Reong for a small beach we find an extended shallow plateau that suddenly turns into a steep dive. The platform runs to about 12m depth before one on a beautiful wall where huge cracks and crack. Large black coral branches (Anthipates) containing many yellow rifbaarsjes.
Along the wall napoleon wrasses, surgeonfish and large schools of black trigger fish. Regularly attract impressive schools neonfusiliers over. Also trevallies rainbow runners and keep it up. The view was beautiful and the flow was so bad.
Highly recommended.
South Reong (Moluccas region) 30m +
More or less similar to the previous dive site but the shallow end of the reef is thoroughly damaged by dynamite fishing. The wall is beautiful, a lot black coral and soft corals. Again, large numbers of black trigger fish and neon fusiliers. Compared to the above, however, significantly less dive!
Tanjung Nunukae (Pulau Wetar) 30m +
In the vicinity of a village is an underwater formation that forms a spine from east to west. The shallow area is located approximately 5 m depth and the plateau narrows as the depth increases. At the edge goes to the steep, a true wall dive. The wall is covered with huge sea fans and cup sponges. The flow may also moderate to strong. A manta rays and mobula were observed.
